‘Ace of Charts’ Webinar #2: FileMaker-Native Graphs

This session explains how to create and configure graphs with the built-in FileMaker Pro chart object, including advanced composite chart types. We cover the 3 ways to feed your chart data and how placement on layouts affects each of them. We discuss ways to set up your database to efficiently generate datasets for charting as well as other helpful practices. You will also receive working example files that you can adapt for your own solutions.

Four different methods are commonly used for visualizing data in FileMaker, providing deployment options appropriate for any organization: • the built-in chart layout object; • third-party plug-ins; • the web viewer with web technologies; • other non-chart indicator methods (merge variables, conditional formatting, repeating fields, etc.). The capabilities and constraints of each approach will be briefly explained.
